A wine with controlled and guaranteed designation of origin, assigned in 1980. It is obtained from the vinification of Sangiovese grapes (known here as Prugnolo Gentile), which must account for at least 70% of the grapes. According to regulations, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano must be aged for at least 18 months in large oak barrels and, obviously, the ageing period increases in the case of reserve wines.
Our selection of Vino Nobile offers a choice of "Vino Nobile" from Cantina del Redi, Vecchia Cantina, Astorre Noti and Poggio Stella, plus two absolutely superlative vintages of Vino Nobile Riserva "Briareo" by Cantina del Redi: 2012 and 2015. Vino Nobile is perfectly paired with structured roasts, game, braised meats or mature cheeses.
